Sugar consumption in America is at an all time high and doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

Take a trip to your local grocery store and you will find every snack known to man peddled in very long isles.

America has a difficult time winning the war against tooth decay, diabetes, inflammation and all the other diseases caused by an increase in the consumption of sugar.

Diabetes in dentistry


A health care coalition asked for a presentation to be presented on diabetes in dentistry.

Because of high levels of sugar addiction in America, diabetes takes a center stage in dentistry.

Not everyone understands the problems encountered combating processed sugar.

Our patients are told immaculate oral hygiene is a major requirement for prevention of gum disease and dental caries.

In diabetes the immune system is compromised for the patient who monitors his blood sugar glucose levels on a daily basis.

Patients on insulin with type I diabetes or patients taking drugs like metaformin for type II diabetes inform our dental team of all medications taken.

Food Allergies


Food allergies are common and should be evaluated in the same manner as if a patient stated they had a drug allergy.
